    Default Passenger lists pre 1890

I am trying to trace when a family could have gone out to Brazil somewhere after the 1881 census, when I lose them and 1894 when they return.

I don't think there's much hope, but is there any way I could access passenger lists before 1890??

I would be grateful for any ideas.

    See Jan's reply above.

For information on the lack of passenger lists prior to 1890 see this TNA guide - Passenger lists

For ideas on information about emigration see this TNA guide - Emigrants
in particular, paragraph 12 concerning Ministry of Health Poor Law Union Papers, held at TNA in document class MH12.

Thank you Geoffers and Jan. I've never come across emigration to Brazil, so drew a blank!

Right, I'm off to have a scoot through.

Once again, thank you for your time.
