Thomas Place c 1805

I am looking for a Thomas Place born c 1805. I have found him on census returns but cannot find any baptism for him.
He was married to an Eleanor Read and he died in th eUnion workhouse in Leytonstone Essex in 1883.
On one census it said he was born in Witney oxfordshire but on all the other available census returns it says Marylebone as his place of birth.

I have really hit a brick wall on this and need help in finding his birth record so that I can move back another stage.

I've looked at Witney St Mary and only PLACE are back in 1500s
And none in Independent, Wesley etc

Actually only census I could find was 1871 when he said Witney - must be under some bad transcription - I was looking at Ancestry

Was he living in Marylebone so putting that as place born is just as a Default.

No Thomas on the IGI in Oxfordshire but found this one( Searched from 1800 - 1810)

Your Thomas also had a brother & sister

Could not find a marriage on FreeBMD so its a possibility that they married before 1837 so you also need to get a copy of the marriage from the Parish Records if their is one.

Thank you so much for all this information - you have set me off again after my brick wall. I will check out the marriage - something on IGI for 1827 so I will go look at parish records when i can get into London. Thank you again for finding this Thomas.
