Here is a plan of where the farm was ,before it was demolished to make way for the building of Saltburn,

We have been looking for this part of our puzzle to the family tree for a very long time .

The historian of Saltburn has not as yet ,found any plan ,except this field plan he gave us .
    Any help will be grand.

due to hitting the brick wall again ,I was thinking if they built the house,s first at saltburn ,then they thought of bringing in the railway along to saltburn-by -the -sea.
So the old farm might have still be standing, could it be the railway have records of the farm ,???? as the lines had to go along side it.

It is only a shot in the dark ,but carnt think where else

have been looking over various site around the north-east , and found this photo of Saltburn by the sea ,and looking closely to the top left hand side of the photo, along side of the railway ,there seem to be a pile of some sort ,could be old building stones, but more you expand the photo you lose the pixels.
Is there any one out there who could confirm i might be correct .
It is in the right place ,where the farm would have been.

We are still trying to dig up any information on Rifts House {farm} ...I have tired to find a GARTH mentioned any where.
I believe the house was taken down ,due to the expansion of the railway ,any ex British railway works on the site ,or grand parents who may have information in the brown suit case ,up in the attic may have the answer.

My wife has done a awful lot of work on the GARBUTTS life history..,but this would be the icing on the cake for her .
