SS Hindustan

Can anyone help me with crew manifest or crew details of P & O's
"SS Hindustan" she left Southhampton on her maiden voyage 24th September 1842. My great great grandfaher William Miller was either cheif steward or a steward on board. I dont have alot of info about him so if I was able to find some details of him I might have a better reference starting point on him.

The records of P&O are held at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. They used to have a dedicated archivist who'd answer queries, but I don't know if he's still around. If you contact the Caird Library at the Museum, they'll let you know how to access them. They include things like basic service records and ship's crew lists and things for certain dates.

Thankyou for info on where I can find P&O staff records sadly they no longer have an archivist, you need to employ a researcher to do any record tracing. Im undecided if this is the path I will take as there is a note that access to P&O staff records is restricted.
