Does anyone know what this is or how I can fix it? It's preventing me from attaching Census Records etc. to people in my tree on a******y, and it's driving me crazy.
Any help from one of you brilliant people would be very much appreciated.![]()

Return false
Hi -
How is it appearing? Return false sounds like it is a message from a subroutine that is checking something or other, finding out it does not like it, and so trying to inform the main program. The main program should spit out a message in English, or try some alternate way to get the job done. It is extremely bad form to have something like that visible to the user, so it is probably something deep in the program.
As in all such cases the thing to do is check the input, try recreating the input, then see if there is some other way to get the information in, and finally, and only as a last resort, get in touch with technical support.
Good luck.

Thank you, Charles. I'm afraid your technical know-how is far in advance of mine. The problem only seems to appear on a*****y, and only at the one particular stage of operation, so perhaps I must reach out to their support team. I guess they might get back to me within a month or so...

Have you been able to do this is the past?
I agree with Charlie that a meaningless message like that shows up bad programming practice but perhaps there is a copyright issue and you cannot attach the record, only a reference.

Oh, yes Jenny - it's never been a problem before to attach records - in fact it's a major advantage of that website. I'm still not sure if the problem lies with them or with my PC, but I've emailed their Technical Support team and will dare to hope (though I shan't hold my breath).
Thank you so much, you BG-ers, for your input.

Good luck Peph, I'd be interested to hear their reply (however long it takes
)
