    Question Street in Liverpool c1830

Trying to discover what parish a certain street would have been in around 1830 in order to get burial records for my 4 x great grandfather.

The street is Prescot Street (not road) and his name is HENRY HALL who was a tobacconist/manufacturer - I have found him in several directories the last being 1829 and he was in Prescot Street for the majority of entries.

Hope someone can help with this.

    Default Prescot Street

    Hi Lottie

I'm not expert at this, but Prescot Street is in the Parish of West Derby and as far as I can tell always has been, in 1831 it hadn't yet become the West Derby Union (that happened in 1837) The parish church of St Mary was built in 1853 but was on the site of the Ancient Chapel of St Mary the Virgin which had been around since about 1360.

There is a map of the area in 1851 if you are interested which is at www.oldmaps.co.uk grid reference 336130 390730

I live in Liverpool if you want anything photographing etc.

    Best wishes
    Amanda
