Thorpe Morieux is a small village in Suffolk, UK. I have been tracing my ancestors from the Bird family, many of whom were born, lived and died there. ANy information on this village would be most welcomed.

And I expect you have already used Ray Long's wonderful Suffolk site listing Birds from Thorpe Morieux(sorry I don't know how the locals pronounce it) and the Suffolk surnames list.
There seem to be Birds all over Suffolk and beyond. Whether in Fressingfield or Theberton or wherever I look for my folk there are Birds also. M

Thank you all for your replies.
Unfortunately the thorpe-morieux.org.uk site is under construction and shows a virtually blank page.
I found the Cosford database very useful as it filled a number of gaps in my tree, now have somewhere around 350 Bird's in it
Any further help is most welcomed and thank you all again

Have you seen Matt Bird's site.(www.birdfamilytree.co.uk) He has about 87 Birds but I cannot see any from Thorpe Morieux there. Is it specific ones you are looking for? M
