Back to Bugbrooke and the Roddis family; - Susannah Roddis married Nimrod Gardner at Bugbrooke on 5th Nov 1787.It seems that she was born at Heyford, Northants on 23rd Dec 1764 and died on 26th Oct 1851. Their children, born in Bugbrooke, were James 8th Sept 1795, Thomas 1797 and many others. Is this the same Roddis family and did they therefore originate in Heyford a generation or so back?

    Hi ...

    Just jumping into this thread!

I have access to Byfield PRs at my local library - anything particular that needs checking? (Please note that these are fiches of actual registers - not typewritten transcripts, and no indexes - so I need to have a reasonable idea of dates etc.).

    Hi Pennie,
Like Sharryn, who I have just found to be related to the RODDIS clan, I am looking for info on John Roddis b1826 in Byfield, christened 14 May 1826. parents William & Charlotte. I have a copy of a John Roddis marrying Fanny Piggott in St Pancras, London Feb 1852; However I had been told that he had married a 'MARY' can you throw any light on this maybe.
Everso many thanks. I started off having no family now I have over 1000.......... Viv

The 1861 census has a John RODDIS (born c 1824 in Byfield, Northants), married to a Fanny and living in Friern Barnet, Middx. The eldest child was born in c1855, which would fit with the marriage date.

There is a John and Mary RODDIS on the same census, living in Northampton, but he was born c1815 in Northampton.

Back again, just getting back into it.... I can not find any info of who James Roddis (B.apx1770) m Mary ..... as to WHO Mary was - was she Mary Peasnal or was she married to another James?? now getting confused.
I must say all of the above is pretty impressive and extremely helpful - thank you all.
