hi i have found that some of my wifes relations were born in malta is there anywhere online i can find info robert john hodges born about 1900 malta his sister violet hlda hodges born about 1902 malta any help appreciated david

The birth certificates can be ordered from the GRO (go to "Order Overseas Certificates" on the right of the home page).

I have no idea why each birth registration is duplicated. It may be worthwhile asking the GRO.

I have no idea why each birth registration is duplicated.

It's because the system was ramshackle. The information was picked up from various forms and if the marriage data appeared on more than one form, it got recorded twice.

I would advise Raa to get hold of his army records - there may be a transfer recorded which explains the duplication.
