Hi all,
I have been trying for some time to establish the school my late Father, Peter Barnes, attended in Lincoln before he joined the Royal Navy. Whilst on visit this past weekend in the Lincolnshire Archives, as they were holding an exhibition, I was by good fortune, had the opportunity to bump in to one of his old school mates. What a coincidence and an absolute first.
I always assumed he would have attended St. Andrews school due to the place of his residence, and it turns out I was right.
What I would like to know now, are there any records of the children of this schools or class photos that may be kept by perhaps an old Head Master. I know that his brother and sister, who I have no contact with, would have also attended this school between 1935 and 1954. I would be very pleased if any of you ex pupils from this school has any information that can take me further in to my research.
Many thanks,
Patrick Barnes

HI,,have you tried searching for ex classmates on friends reunited? if you put the name of the school in the search,it will find any ex pupils who have joined that particular school. it will also show the years that they were at the school,,and now that it is free, you could send these ex pupils a message requesting if they have any info or photos,,,,,just a thought.....good luck....Mike.

Both my late Dad and I were born at 26 Scorer Street, directly opposite St Andrew's School.
One of his school reports has survived, Class 2a, 1934-35. He would have left in 1937, assuming they left at age 15.
The school's name was apparently "St Andrew's Intermediate Church School". The headmaster has signed the report as C Hill
