Does anyone know if there is a site for burials or MI in Ormskirk in the 18 and 19 century. Still trying to chase Henry MANCHESTER b c 1810, his wife Ann and the PEET family namely Richard PEET b c 1693 and wife Ellen (nee FILES) Have found grave stones useful in the past
Thanks Lynne

Cannot help you with a site, Lynne, but it looks like the Ormskirk MIs are available on CD from Parish Chest. Click the link and scroll down until you get to Ormskirk.

Thanks, I've sent off for it , so lets hope it has the correct records on it. Also noticed parish register books, might give them a go next month

If you have people who were living (and dying) in Ormskirk, I am sure that it will be useful. I must agree - MIs are so very interesting.
Good luck - also with the PRs.

Hi Lynne,
Have you looked at www.lan-opc.org.uk for parish records for Ormskirk. They have transcriptions from mid-1700s, included several Peets and Manchesters.

Hi everyone
Have you looked in the following?
It's the pilot site, topping up IGI

Thanks Georgiep and Cathie
I do use OPC but there appears to be a gap between the CD i have that finishes 1714 and the start of Ormskirk on the OPC.
I have had a quick look at the other LDS site and it looks very interseting. Will have more of a look later and let you know if I make any further progress.
I did wonder if they came from another Lancs town (perhaps Wigan) in the 1690s
thanks again Lynne

Hi I've emailed a pal in USA.
She's "mustard" for this area.
Cheers
Georgie
