Hi, my online name is sylvestercatdpj. I have been interested in Genealogy since my parents sadly passed away. Two and Five years respectively. Not knowing anything about the family; only close cousins. I decided to try and research where I came from; to try and capture my parents. I have since found out that Genealogy is a disease without cure; I am hooked. So far it has been a journey I am glad I started. The small family I thought I had come from is not so small as I first thought. So far I have been fortunate enough to have been in contact with relatives I had no prior knowledge of; who have been a great help with my research. Some areas have been difficult but others have been really interesting; finding out what some have done and achieved is the most exciting part of it. I am looking forward to trying to help if I can and also picking the brains of others.

Hello David and a warm welcome to Brit-Gen

It is amazing how we find that our families are much bigger than we thought. Both of my parents were the only children of my grandparents, but I soon found that I was stumbling across distant cousins. Have a good look round and post your questions on the appropriate boards. Then we can all pitch in to help.
