Question where to find births for STENT in stratford essex pre 1837

I have been trying to find the birth of
    Jane Stent
    Charles Stent all c 1828-30
    Sarah Stent

I have Janes marriage certificate to a James Digby in 1859 it says her father was William Stent a Miller but they married in city of London.

all the census records from 1871 onwards say they were born at Stratford Essex but I cant find any record of them so far.

admiting to lasyness I have only tried online but stratford doesnt seem to exsit on any records I have found any ideas please

Could be time for a bit of real research, then!

The likeliest place to find parish records is London Metropolitan Archives. Problem might be that Stratford always seems to me to be one of those ill-defined districts and you might have to check several churches. And then of course of they weren't of the CoE persuasion you might have to cast your net even wider. Chasing people in London is a headache, there's no getting away from it.

Presumably "Stratford, Essex" means Stratford Langthorne. Was that constituted as a parish in the period you're interested in? If not I'm guessing it would have come under West Ham. Perhaps an East London expert will drop by!

definately says essex on census, on the 1861 census which someone kindly found for me Janes date of birth is given as 1828 and now I have looked back at that it saysliving in West ham born stratford living at the Pig & Whistle! a Beer house & Butchers shop. this was after her marriage to James Digby.

Sarah never married she seemed to have lost the power of speech by 1871 birth stratford essex c 1830

    and charles c1832
so looks like I am out of luck on St Marys unless there are other siblings I dont know about. still now at least I know the area to look at thank you
