Hello.
Rebecca Maplethorpe married James Codling in the civil parish of Wellingore, but that happened in March of 1837 so is not much help in identifying her parents.
However, I have now learned that she was actually married in the Hundred of Boothby Graffoe (Lower Division), on the road to Lincoln north of Navenby. Now I realize that parish marriage records usually do not help with parents, but maybe there is something there. I realize my karmic load is getting heavy, but could someone take a look?
And by the way, what is the Commissary Court of the Peculiar and Exempt Jurisdiction of Groby? They do wills, but apparently also track marriages.
I will leave you all alone now. Unless something comes along.

Hi Charlie,
Sorry, but I don't have access to the PRs.
I'm no good with kilometres, but I've zoomed out 2 if not 3 times on the map and South Glastonbury looks as if it might be quite near Middletown, where you can order LDS films for viewing at the Godfrey Memorial Library. Otherwise there's the LDS FHC in (Bloomfield) Hartford.
You will want the parish registers for Wellingore. A 'Hundred' is an old division/area of a county. Little bit about a hundred here. Certainly there is no church called the Hundred of Boothby Graffoe.
Shove 'Commissary Court of the Peculiar and Exempt Jurisdiction of Groby' into a search engine for some sort of explanation(s), though you perhaps get a slightly better result if you shorten it to the first two words, and then click on the 'Consistory court' link from wiki.

Hi Pam Thanks.
Yes, there is a church called St. Andrew's in Boothby Graffoe. But and however I have since learned that Graffoe is the name of the whole deanery, which includes Wellingore. Dealing with Deaneries is not Ducky.
Actually I have been to the LDS in Bloomfield, which is on the other side of Hartford. I am planning to go back up there in a couple of weeks - they have a fiche that may help with my world-famous Lupton brickwall.
Did you find Park Place in South Glastonbury? It's a U-shaped road just north of the 2nd Congregational church. We're the second house in from the right (Rte 17) on the north side. Pity they're putting in condominiums behind us in the spring.
Regards,
Charlie
