My Name is Colin and up until a year ago I new nothing of my ancestors apart from my parents and Grandparents and even then what I knew was sketchy.
It was my brother who started the genaology quset and now it as fallen to me to take up the reigns.

I have, what seems to be almost constantly on the internet trying to find any snippits of info I can.

My Grandfather and his family were from Kilburn area of London/ hammersmith/ fulham/ shepards bush that sort of catchment.

Im trying to include as much military records as I can however as I'm sure you are all aware nothing is simple.

My immidiate quest is to try and see if it is possible to find any record of my Granfathers burial, for my fathers sake, because his dad died whilst he was only 2 or 3.

I have his death cert and the place he died and where he was living at the time, but I cannot seem to locate any burial records whatsoever.

I'm doing quite well elsewhere altough its daunting trawling through London records.

I beleive I have found in the 1911 census a missing section of the family, however the surname is spelt slightly diffrerent, is this common place and also did the tennant sign the census or was it the job of the person who was collecting the information.


Anyway thats enough info for the moment no doubt I will be asking a lot more questions.
