to all present users of Tribal Pages, seems obvious it's an American setup. I guess one has to use a calculator to work out different payments to join? ie.... posted costs would be USA dollars?
How nice if these various "join me" sites would give several different countries & the value of fees.

I think Its about £15 per year at present, a bit expensive when you realise that there are mainly American users so you wont get as many connections as you would if it was a British site like G R.

Tribal pages is a site for private users - probably not explaining it well but it is not like ancestry or genes at all. On Genes and ancestry you are limited to what you can input, whereas tribalpages, who can make up any kind of reference for notes over and above the standard, birth, marriage, death, baptism, military. Plus you have the bonus of adding coloured lines that follow a person's lineage and a relationship tool that allows you to input names and determine the relationship if any. The best thing to do is to explore the example trees and FAQ for more information. You also don't get advertising banners running across your tree like genes and ancestry. I guess you get what you pay for. I think genes is expensive but is far less than ancestry so I don't mind shelling out the money.

I do not think it is at all expensive. I use it only for communication between my family. They, and only they, have the password and can download census, certificates, newspaper clippings, photographs and all the other details that I scan to it, if they wish.
If I turn on my PC tomorrow and it goes kaput! then Tribal Pages stores everything for me.
I think that is worth a few bob of any one's money so you have to look at all the sites and see if they serve a purpose for you.

Very bizarre not to have such a facility built in perhaps Pfaff is the only free one that does do a back up. I know I didn't like it with all the backups cluttering up the desktop!
