There's a John Fawcett LYON born in Yorkshire, reg in Hull district, Sept Qtr 1871, Vol 9d Page 232. Would that be about the correct age?
Also another born much earlier, also in Yorkshire, Helmsley Reg Dist, Jun Qtr 1843 Vol 24 Page 401.

My Grandmother is a Lyon = daughter of Joseph Rhodes Lyon/granddaughter of John Fawcett Lyon.

thank you for your reply, yes we are related, my mother was margaret henrietta brady, formally polzin, nee matheson. her mother was elizabeth mary matheson nee lyon, her father [my great grandfather] was john fawcett lyon. I would delighted if you can help. june.
