Ramsey, Moore , Ellis, Airey,Carefull, Moran.
I have already started reseaching my own pedigree from Wesmorland and North West Yorkshire, and Brickwalled at 1791.
But my maternal Great grandfather Robert Ramsey Master Mariner born Dublin Ireland in the year 1843 has me stumped. looking for his birth certificate. Robert Moore born Belfast Ireland 1829 (my wifes great grandfather) has also been a problem for me. I know he moved to Liverpool about 1840? and married to Hannah Ellis ,who came from Kilalla Ireland.
I think thats enough for now to keep someone busy ,along with myself of couse ,(always searching) by the way I was born in Everton, and raised in Fazackerley, married 1954 came to Canada 1955, ttfn Bill.

Hi Bill
Do you have the marriage certificate for Robert Moore and Hannah Ellis?
If not the ref is: Mar quarter 1853 Vol.8b Page 274
If you do have the certificate, what is their given age? What was their address? What was Roberts occupation? What was the name of their parents?
I have found them on the 1871 census and possibly on the 1861 census, I say possibly because their ages are totally different although their childrens ages more or less agree as does his occupation.
Best wishes

Hi Bill
I have found Robert Ramsey on the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census.
I have found his marriage:
Robert Ramsey and Fanny Gibson
Quarter Jun 1873 Vol 8 Page 93
the marriage took place at St.Johns Church, Liverpool
If you want copies of the census send me a private message with your email address.
The record office for Dublin can be found on http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm as you will see birth records only start in 1864, so you would have to find his christening record and to do that you would have to pay one of their researchers to do the job.
Best wishes

Re Robert Moore
Hi MISS, thanks for your info, re Robert Moore, I must tell you that I have Been following Robert and Hannah Moore Nee Ellis since they arrived in Liverpool, and infact have collected the Census information right down to My wife's Family , the info i amtrying to find is their birth dates and locations in Ireland, along with their Parents and family..
As far as My greatgrandfather Robert Ramsey born in dublin Ireland is concerned ,again i am pretty sure that i'm ontop of knowing about his Marriage to Fanny Gibson born in Cumberland , and their only duaghter Sophia.
who was my grandmother also Sophia's marriage to Henry James Carefull and their two daughters Frances and Elsie.
I dont want you to think i'm ungreatfull for the interest in my requests ,but i thought i should tell you what i know and save your valuable time .
I do not have any Certificates other then my parents marriage and my mothers birth certificate, but its not for the want of trying.

Hi Bill
Yes I do know the cottage homes, my Nan along with her brother and sisters were all brought up there. The Fazakerley Local History group produced a book on the area a few years ago and it contained articles from people who had grown up in the cottage homes describing what it was like.
As for Robert Moore, if you were to order a copy of the marriage it would confirm their ages and also give you the fathers names and occupation which will help you with the next stage especially if there is more than one Robert Moore born around the same time. The same thing also applies to Robert Ramsey

What is the problem you are referring to?
