I have a copy of a letter where the writer is talking about her grandmothers first husband who was forced into the army in the early 1800's. She writes that he was killed in a Battle of Flanders.
Am I correct in thinking that this would have been the Napoleonic Wars and if so, when did this battle take place.

Can you tie down the date any more exactly?
Plenty of battles in Flanders/Low Countries in the Napoleonic Wars:
1793 - battles of Valenciennes, Lincelles, Nieuport
1794 - Catillon, Villers en Cauchies, Beaumont, Willems, Tournai, Boxtel
1799 - Egmont-op-Zee, Castricum
1809 - Walcheren
1814 - Bergen-op-Zoom
And those are just the main ones!
