Hi
I am looking for an Amy Bland born around 1838 - 1839 according to 1911 census it looks like she was born in Rothley but I have not been able to find any trace of her until her marriage in 1858 to William Smith. Any and all help ro advice is more than greatly appreciated.

Amy BLAND
Do you have the marriage certificate for their marriage, and if so what is the name & occupation of Amy's father which should help us to trace her on 1841/51 census records. If not the marriage was registered in the September qtr 1858 at Blaby registration district, vol 7a, page 96. Certificates can be purchased online at www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/
In previous census records, if I have the correct couple, Amy states that she was born at Enderby, Leicestershire and the registration district where she was married, i.e. Blaby, does include the parish of Enderby.
There is an Amy BLAND, aged 5, in Babworth, Notts on the 1841 census, father Thomas mother Mary with several siblings, none of whom were born in Notts but this family may of course have nothing to do with your Amy and to trace her with any certainty we do need the details from her marriage certificate.

From her marriage certificate it says her fathers name was John. No name for her mother and this is the information I am also trying to find out. I know that on previous census it says she was born in Enderby but on this census it says Rothley and I need to check this out as I have not been able to find her in the Enderby Parish registers. I am sorry I don't have any more information to go on.
I have a small theroy about this person and if in fact I find her birth in Rothley it throws the theroy out with the bath water.
Thanks to the both of you for replyimg to me.
