    Default Turks Head, Coventry

    Hi,
Can anyone supply me with a photograph or other information on George Yardley who was the landlord of the Turks Head, Silver Street, Coventry in the 1880's.

    Thaks Keith.

Hi Keith - Yes! George was my Great Great Grandfather. I'm only just getting into this genealogy thing but my Uncle has already started some Tree research. We always knew he was the Landlord there - he is listed in this:
Inns and Taverns in Coventry, Warwickshire, taken from the directory of
    F. White and Co.'s Warwickshire, dated 1874.
Turk's Head, George Yardley, 29 Silver street
George was born in 1818 and Married twice - ultimately to Emma Newton who was a barmaid in the Pub and 34 years younger than him!!
I have more details - we'll see if we have a photograph as well. I have been looking for images of the Pub around the time? Would be very interested to know why you ask?
I was most suprised when a google-search led me to your thread?
    Cheers, Neil Yardley
