Mark...
Just wondered if you are moon gazing tonight?
I just read that this is the year's biggest full moon... It is a beauty.......
Clear and -10 here and the moon is lighting the countryside with all our snow. It would make a wonderful "Night Before Christmas" as its definatly a "lustre of midday"

Hi Sue - missed this post completely!
On the night in question (Friday) it was totally cloudy here - with rain. I was pretty disappointed - but you get used to that if you are interested in the sky!
Your view sounds pretty spectacular though! With the snow, it must really have been bright!

Hi Mark...
No problem!!
It was likely the only clear night in the month and what a beauty. Sorry you had cloud cover as it really was spectacular. Brightest I've seen the moon in a long time. I'm not a great photographer, but I took a picture and have the outlines of some trees and this big yellow ball in the sky so I am happy with my keepsake.
The planets were also still visible in the s/w sky.. just wish it had been warmer to stay outside longer for a really have a good look.
Sue
