    Default Cullin/Livesey/Duckworth in Bolton

    Hi,

I hope this isn't too confusing, but here goes!

I have found an entry on the 1881 census showing what I believe to be members of my family, James 46, Isabella 42, Mary 70 (all originally from Ireland) and John 12, Isabella 4 (possibly my paternal great grandmother), Rebecca 1 (all born in Bolton). The address is shown as 21 Green St, Little Bolton, Lancashire.

The Cullin (or Cullen) family in Ireland came from Manor Hamilton originally.

My great grandmother, Isabella, married William Duckworth, and had children Frederick, Jack, Thomas and my grandmother Issabel (? spelling) (born 8.5.1904).

My grandmother married Eric Livesey approx. 1929 (I have also posted re Livesey family on the Lancashire forum).

For some time in the 1930/40s, my grandmother, father and uncle all lived in Ivy Cottage in Cemetery Road, Bolton and also living in that road (I don't know the number of her house) was my great grandmother's sister Rebecca who, as I understand it, never married.

I dont know if there were any other members of the Livesey/Duckworth/Cullin families who also lived in Cemetery Road.

I would appreciate it if someone is able to look up on later censuses to see if the family shown on the 1881 census may have moved to cemetery road, and if there is any other relevant information that can be gleaned from later census entries.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi,

I have found your Cullen family in the 1891 census living in the town of Tonge (Tongue with Haulgh) registration district Bolton.
    James is 56, Isabella 52, John 22, James 20 Isabella 14 and Rebecca 11.

And in the 1901 census they are living at 165 Cemetry Lodge, Tonge, Bolton.

    Hope this helps.

    Elaine

    Hi again,

Thought I would mention that in the 1891 census your family are living at Porters Lodge which is 2 doors down from Ivy cottage. Can't see any more of your ancestors in the same street.

In the 1901 census there is a James Wood who is a nephew.

    Best wishes

    Elaine.
