Hello All,
Would someone be kind enough to do a look up for a James DRIVER in the 1851 Census.
James was born c1836 (making him about 15) and he was born in Stretham, Cambridgeshire.
Regards
Alex Nicole.

Sorry, can't find him. The only Driver born at that time in Cambridgeshire is a David Driver (HO107; Piece: 1760; Folio: 321; Page: 26), son of Amos and Mary.

James DRIVER
Alex,
Have you looked for him under the surname of DREVER as he seems to have been recorded as that in both the 1871 census of Thetford and the 1861 census of Stretham. He also appears to have been married twice as he has a wife named Elizabeth in the 1861 and one named Ann in the 1871.
Could this be him in the 1851 of Stretham - his age is 2 years out but I would think he is a likely candidate:
HO107/1764, folio 35, pages 18/19
Green End
Robert DREVER Head Mar 42 Pig Jobber Isle of Ely Stretham
Ann do Wife Mar 48 do do
Robert do Son U 19 Ag Lab do do
James do Son U 17 do do do
Mary A do Daur U 14 Employed at Home do do
Charles H do Son 8 Scholar do do

Hello Janet,
He looks like a good candidate. It's interesting that you mention Thetford & Stretham as I have children for him born in both locations. Would it be to much to ask for the details from the 1861 & 1871 census?
James is the father of the Alfred DRIVER that I was asking about in an earlier thread.
I wonder what a Pig Jobber is!
Once again thank you very much for the help.
