    Hi there,
Just noticed your thread and thought this might be of some use, from my own family tree:

    John Carpenter, bpt 25/2/1787 - d 13/4/1833 -married in Illogan on 23/1/1808 - Susan(na) JELBERT (Gilbert) bpt 30/11/1788
daughter of: Andrew GILBERT (Jelbard) bpt 6/3/1757 - married in Illogan on 27/10/1787 - Mary GEORGE.
Andrew was son of John GILBERD bpt 14/8/1708 - married in Illogan on 24/12/1746 - Amy DORMAN.
John was son of Thomas GILBERD (Julbart) married in Illogan on 17/6/1704 to Catherine (surname not known)

That's all I've got I'm afraid, Hope it's of some use to you.

    Kind regards

    Hi Lyn

Have you tried visiting the Penwith Genealogy web-site. They've got a whole load of threads dedicated to Gilbert/Gilbard/Jelbard, etc.
They also allow you to search by location, which I find helpful.

Hope this of use to you

    regards

    Ted

    Hi
I have just started to research my family tree, my grandmother was Pyllis May Gilbert from Portreath, I would be grateful for any information anyone has.
