queens School, Hove

I've lived in Hove for over 30 years and have not heard of Queens School. Remember that Hove used to be an independent town (before being joined with Brighton).
There is a Queens Gardens on Hove seafront which is in an area probably developed before the turn of the century and 'could' have been the site of a school although I can find no trace of it. It now has a block of flats there.
I've searched several local history sites and the name is not mentioned.
Where did you get the original reference to 'Queens School'?

Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I have 2/3 photographs of pupils, one of which shows them outside the school. It also shows the road sign – Carlisle Road. I’ll be happy to send it if you think it would be useful.
I take your point regarding Hove being a separate entity and will pursue that line,

In the 1901 census, Walsingham Mansions (in or near Carlisle Rd but may be in the next road along) was shown as an unnamed school. See ED 32 in the parish of Aldrington.

Thanks for the Christmas greeting.
The area between Carlisle Road & Walsingham Road (on the seafront) today contains blocks of flats but could have been the site of Walsingham Mansions. At the other end of the road (New Church Road) opposite Carlisle Road was a former BUPA hospital comprising an older building (which could also have been the school) and a newer block - both since pulled down and now shows, on Google Earth, as a building under construction (another block of flats) - oops sorry, now called luxury apartments. There still are private schools on New Church Road. The background of the photos might give a clue as to which end of the road the school was.
