Default Eluvise Susannah Randell nee Collis nee Chamb

    Dear Searchers,

Yes Susan was married twice (that I know of). Susannah Chamberlain was born 1st Oct 1870 in North Cadbury.

She married Edwin Eli Collis 3rd mar 1892 at Yarlington, Somerset.

They have at least six children. Edwin died 18th Dec 1903 at Throop Lane, Abbas on Templecombe, Wincanton, Somerset not quite 40 years of age.

Susan marries Frederick Randell 25th Sept 1905 St Marys, Abbas at Templecombe, Somerset.

I have been unable to locate any further info except a family letter from my g grandma (Susans mam) who says in 1922 shortly before her death that "Susan is well and over at Wraxall".

My Dad was told a a small boy that Susan died whilst emigrating with a Canadian/American during WWI.

I have been told by a decendant of the first family that there was a problem after Edwin died and the family got split up and an aunt ended up looking after one of the young Collis boys.

I have searched so many BMD indexes post 1905 to find any record of Susan/nah and her second husband but simply lose them. I have been told by the decendant that Susan actually went on to live a long and happy life in the Somerset/Wilts/Dorset area. the one person that could have thrown light on this mystery died a few days before the decendant was due to meet them and the mystery persons family did not want to know. This is what set my dad & I on this searching - I have found so many other branches except this one elusive one - what really happend to Susan. Can any one help?
