    Default George Tynemouth

I wonder if anyone can help? My father George Tynemouth was a cook in the army during WW2, serving in North Africa. Although he survived the war, he died in 1958 at the age of 41. I have no real memories of him as I was only five at the time. My brother and sister are younger than me.

I would love to find out more information about him including his war service, The above info is all I have.

Also if anyone has any info about his brothers Bill (Will), Bob (Robert) and John who had a different surname.

    Thanks

Hallo Stella and welcome to B-G Forums.

Others more knowledgeable than I will hopefully point you in the right direction for service records.

As he was 41 in 1958 I presume he was the George Tynemouth whose birth was registered in Tynemouth, Northumberland March quarter 1917, mother's maiden name Storey (volume 10b page 558)

His parents would then presumably have been William J Tynemouth and Ethel M Storey, who married September quarter 1913, registration district Tynemouth, Northumberland (vol 10b page 535)

This is all the information you need to order the marriage certificate
