    Default DSM Vincent Johnston

Family stories say thet Vincent Johnson Submariner was awarded the DSM for bravery in 1942??
He rescued under fire British Pilots in the English Channel.
Any ideas as to how I can find out if this is true?
    Thanks in anticipation

    Try searching the London Gazette.

I THINK the awards should be recorded there.

From memory the National Archives would hold the information.

Someone more knowledgeable may be able to shed more light here however.

Thanks, but I think that would mean a visit to London as I could not find the information online

    Default Submariners' Medal Details

The Royal Navy Submarine Museum at Gosport were especially helpful to me when I was researching my father-in-law's WW2 details. Give them his name, service no. and I am sure they would be only too willing to assist. Lovely people too!

    Web site as follows:
