    Smile My surname interests

    Hi,

I joined this site earlier this year and thought that it was about time that I introduced myself as I've been enjoying having a nosy around today.

My name's Heather and I've been researching for 2 years or so and have found it a very addictive hobby I'm researching both my own and my husband's ancestry so have quite a lot of surname interests. They include the following (which I'm aware is rather a long list but I'd like to allow for every eventuality!):

    Aldis - Norfolk
    Askew - Norfolk & London
    Bellegueulle - London & France
    Brooks - Somerset
    Buckett - Hampshire (Portsmouth)
    Carter - Somerset
    Church - Berkshire (Abingdon)
    Davis - Berkshire (Abingdon)
    Dupree - London
    Finch - Middlesex
    Francis - Sussex & Hampshire
    Greening - Dorset
    Howard - Middlesex & Buckinghamshire
    Jenkins - Hampshire (Portsmouth)
    Kingdon - Devon
    Maskell - London
    Munns - Hertfordshire
Paskey - Devon & Hampshire (Portsmouth)
    Perkins - Somerset & Glamorgan
    Piper - Hampshire & Dorset
    Quarman - Somerset
    Sansom - Dorset
    Sibley - London
    Symes - Dorset
    Truby - Buckinghamshire
    Wellspring - Hampshire (Portsmouth)
    Weston - London
    Winzar - Dorset

Best wishes to everyone with your research and I'll be happy to hear from anyone who shares my interests.

    God bless,

    Heather

    Smile Pipers of Hampshire

    Hi John,

At this stage I don't know much about the Pipers. My great great grandmother Mary Charlotte Piper was born in Wareham, Dorset but her father George was from Andover in Hampshire (born c. 1810). Martyr Worthy is fairly close to Andover a possibility. I'm hoping that my mum who lives in Hampshire will be able to check up on George for me and see if we can find any more information. All I know at the moment is that his father's name was Thomas.

If any of that means anything to you I'd love to hear from you.

    Best wishes,

    Heather

    Smile Trubys/Kingdons

    Hello Heather

I am interested in Trubys in Oxfordshire (Charlton On Otmoor/Oxford) and Kingdons in Devon (Fremington/Barnstaple). With the help of some very distant relations, I am quite far back with the Trubys but the Kingdons are proving very tricky indeed.

Where specifically are you researching in Devon?

    Default Trubys/Kingdons

    Hi,

I don't think that we would have a Truby connection as mine originate from Iver, Bucks. I've traced them back to the mid 1700s there.

The Kingdons however could be a possibility. I have Kingdons born in South Molton in the mid 1800s. Their father was James Kingdon b. approx 1823 in Knowstone. He was married to Susanna Smith who was from Bishops Nympton. Does that connect with you at all?

    Heather

I haven't found any connection with the Tavistock area so far but I guess that there may be one further back.

    Hi Heather,
I think they were from the 'Moultons' but still not 100% convinced I have the right line (g.grandfather has different middle name to that on my grandparents marriage certificate, although much else fits in)
    Regards
