    Default coles-isle of wight

    hi all ,

    my grand parents ernest and georgina coles were in service to a vicar in ventnor isle of wight 1926-1928 ish !!
    the vicar died during this period .
    how do ifind the name of the vicar ?
    and what church/vicarage ?

    The only idea that springs to mind is if the electoral register is checked for your grandfather.

    Maybe the Isle of Wight Records Office would be able to help you with that. See here: http://www.iow.gov.uk/library/record_office/

    Default Vicars

    A large library or county record office should hold sets of 'Crockford's Clerical Directories', which list clergy, parishes etc. Someone might be able to look up for you. Any IoW people here to say how many CofE churches there are/were?
