[Douglas Beddows]

Hi all, I am Douglas Beddows in Australia. Have hit a Brickwall with regard to finding info on my GG/Grandfather. I have the following to date :-
My Father was Albert Edward Beddows (b) 30-9-1884 at Droitwich Wor
(d) 19-5-1958 at Maryborough Qld Aust.
Grandfather Thomas Beddows (b)1832 at Cherrington Shrop (d) 21-9-1858 at 172 Newhall St Birmingham.(m) 4-8-1875 to Jane Boucher.
G/Grandfather Thomas Beddow (note changed spelling) (b)1813 at Old Castle Malpas Ches (no record of death) (m)4-11-1831 to Elizabeth Taylor.

I have to hand unconfirmed info that my GG/Grandfather may have came from Bangor or Flintshire in Wales. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Doug,

I checked out Thomas Beddow through the censuses and he disappears between 1871 and 1881.

I have found this death registration, which may be him:

September quarter, 1879, Newport Shropshire District, volume 6a, page 455, aged 65, Thomas BEDDOW

Thanks for that, pretty sure that it is him. Now have birth details. Born in Wales at either Bangor is-y-Coed or maybe just over border in Old Castle Malpas Cheshire. Cannot find birth registration (i.e Page and Vol) Can you help. Like to obtain Birth Certificate for info on his parents.

Doug,

Registration only started in England/Wales in September qtr 1837, so for information before that you have to consult the appropriate parish registers.
