Hello
I am seeking help in finding information on Agnes LYON. I have her obituary that lists her as Fleming-Lyon, but in 1911 Canadian census she lists only Lyon as her last name. She was born on Febuary 14, 1886. She immigrated to Canada in 1910 according to the census, but again her obit says 1907,- specificaly to Glace Bay Nova Scotia, where she was employed as a domestic. She married my grandfather William Turner in 1912. She may have been from Paisley. Needless to say this has been very confusing, especialy since her own sons still alive seem to know nothing. Any help at all in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

A search on ScotlandsPeople shows that an Agnes Lyon was born in 1886.
I don't have any credits to look at the entry for you.

Thank you so much
Thanks for the quick responses everyone

I believe the ship entry to be correct. It seems most ships stopped in Newfoundland and then transfered to the Bruce which came to North Sydney. As for her fathes name, I have not yet located the marriage certifricate, athough I did track and entry I now have to check. I'm hoping you may be right
I am going to the archives tomorrow. This is very exciting

I was at the archives today. Agnes's father was John and her mother was Henrietta.Unfortunatey, the marriage certifricate only list Scotland, not a specific area.

I know that this is clutching at straws, but just wondered if this was a possible on the 1901 scottish census. The Wife's sister is called Fleming, so I wondered if this was where the 'Fleming Lyon' came from?
