[Lost in Time]

Thanks to the last war I lost my parents in France in 1943 and was brought up for a few years by a neighbour and then after the war by a Second cousin of my mothers who had been trying to find our family and through good luck found me. She brought me up and poured all the love upon me that an elderly spinster could summon up, but sadly knew next to nothing about my parents, other than a wonderful holiday my mother and she had had together in 1929! When I was twenty I started searching for my parents siblings running into dead end after dead end. Then I found mention of someone searching for a french family of my surname I contacted him and found my English Third cousin -who again knew little about my parents - but helped me hugely -to find my Sands great Grandparents of Kent and Chelsea and my other english great Grandparents of Suffolk and now I want to find as much as possibe about these two families as somehow the more I find out the close it brings me to the parents I hardly knew - Regards -Luc

Make yourself comfy, have a good rootle round the boards and post what you know (plus your questions) on the appropriate ones. Perhaps Kent, London and Suffolk to start with. I wish you well with your research.
