    Unhappy Rossiter Brick Wall

    Hello all
My 'big time' brick wall is Bartholomew ROSSITER.
I know he died in Sydney, NSW, Australia 25 Sept 1845 as I have his burial record. His address was Jamison St, Sydney and he was listed as a gardener.
The following is info I've been given from a reliable source but no hard proof.
Bart. his wife Elizabeth (Waldon) and children Mary Anne, Elizabeth, Catherine, Gertrude and John arrived in Australia 1840 on the Lord Weston/Western. Have proof that a Mary Anne and Elizabeth Rossiter arrived on this ship but no sign of the rest of the family. Bart and his family supposedly came from Co. Kildare, Ireland as bounty passengers.
The NSW State Library has no record.
Have searched and searched and searched under different combinations of his name but can't find him. Have posted on just about every site except this one and am coming to the conclusion that he changed his name somehow in Aust. Does that make sense
So I'm hoping that someone may be able to help me out here. Have lots of info on his kids - especially his son John who was my gg grandfather - but nothing on Bart.
So guys it's over to you.
    TIA

The shipping record for Mary / Maryanne Rossidor on the Lord Western in 1840 says she is 19, and from Killeallen, Kildare. Elisa /Elizabeth is 17 years old.

I have a Corcoran family who all arrived at different times, even though most of them ended up in the same place in Victoria. A daughter arrived first, then her mother with two younger daughters, then the older son with his wife and child. Something like that has probably happened with your family. If they came unassisted, then the shipping list might not come to light.

    Default rossiter brick wall

    Hi Christine
Thank you for your reply. Already have this info on Maryanne and Elizabeth thanks. Knew about it previously but it was also the only bit of info that the State Library found for me. And yes, I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that Bart came out either before or after these two and sometimes I wonder if he came out under another name
Thanks for your interest and will just keep hoping that someone, somewhere can help me find him. The more times I post the more chances I'll have of someone saying hey, know that guy.
    Regards
    Jan
