HiI am trying to trace the parents and siblings of MARY JANE HARTNETT Born aprox 1846 . she married THOMAS ASHTON on the 1st of MAY 1873 at St ANNS, SHANDON, CORK, IRELAND. he was in the army the 14th HUSSARS> I have hit a brickwall after that, have tried everthing I can think of but no luck. any help much appreciated . EDWARD ASHTON.

You will need to get a marriage cert. That will give parents' names and occupations and with any luck the witnesses might be related to the couple.
Try writing to the GRO ,Government House, Convent Rd, Roscommon Ireland with the details.(Google for the teleephone number to ask about cost etc, first. I think Irish certs are much the same price as English ones.
There are several Irish sites such as failteromhat and connorsgenealogy.
Don't give up finding your Irish ancestors. Suddenly you get a break and there they are.
