I am really starting all over. I am looking for very basic information on my parents who died some 18/21 years ago in Bournemouth, leaving no birth or wedding info. My father was WILLIAM JOSEPH SINGLEHURST, born in London March 20, 1912, who was married to DAISY VICTORIA SELINA ROSLING, born in London December 19, 1914.
My father's parents names were WILLIAM J. SINGLEHURST AND MARY MCCARTHY. I would like to trace this grandmother's links to Ireland.
My mother's parents names were FREDERICK ROSLING AND MARY ROCHE or ROACH. Again, I am trying to trace this grandmother's links to Ireland.

SINGLEHURST
Hi,
There is a marriage registration in the March qtr 1912 at Stepney reg district of a William A SINGLEHURST to a Mary E McCARTHY, vol 1c, page 384. If you send for the certificate it will give you the name & profession of Mary's father which should help narrow down the search somewhat.

I see William Joseph Singlehurst born March 20, 1912 son of William ALBERT Singlehurst b Mar. 1887 at Mile End/Stepney and Mary Elizabeth McCarthy. William A and Mary E married Mar 11, 1912 in Stepney. His occupation is listed as office boy in 1901. He enlisted Dec 1 1916 with the rank of driver- note says he was transfered to a reserve unit in 1919 due to contraction of dysentary in Turkey. Religion Church of England. If this is on the right track let me know and I can give you more info on his parents

Thanks for your efforts. I would welcome all the info you might have, particularly any info on the parents of MARY E McCARTHY.

Singlehursts
I've been trying to find out info on the Singlehurst families (they seem to originate from Northampton, Nottingham and London, but I'm trying to find out where and when they split!). I've got lots and lots of dates and other information, which I'd be willing to share!
If anyone has any info I'd be grateful - the Singlehursts seemed to sail off all around the world, so some details are a bit sketchy and I'd like to fill them in...
Thanks
Vicky

Hello Hennequin - welcome to Brit-Gen,
Unfortunately Bill has not visited the forum for nearly 4 years but is still a member. If you click on his user-name, a drop-down box will appear and one of the options is to send a private message. If you do so, it should generate an email to him.
Good luck,
