    Hi Ron

This township can be seen on several O.S. maps from c.1850 - to the present day at the Records Office web site for tithe maps:-
    http://maps.cheshire.gov.uk/tithemaps/

from the option - "jump directly to a specific township" select "Byley"

    regards,
    Odessa.

Please note that Ron has a new thread about the village and hall at Ravenscroft here.

If you are able to assist with his query please post on the linked thread.

Hi Ron, I have an ancestor Peter Wettenhall who married Frances Ravenscroft in Ravenscroft in 1755. They lived at Ravenscroft Hall and had 4 sons and 5 daughters. Their son Robert who emigrated to Australia was my Great Great Great Grandfather. The name Ravenscroft has been carried on in the family and my Aunt was named Olive Ravenscroft.
