Hi anyone who can help!
Im a bit stuck (as you might have guessed) I have information on FLORENCE BLACKBOROW but I can't find the surname of the man she married so that I can take that particular bit of research further.
The info I have is....
FLORENCE BLACKBOROW 1889 Islington
Daughter of HARRY WALTER BLACKBOROW 1864 - 1941 &
FLORENCE HASTINGS KNIGHT 1869 - 1950
She married (according to family memory) a German man named ADOLF but I can't find any record of his second name! They had two children (as far as i know) CHRISTAL and RUSHAN - but without the fathers surname im stuck worse that a fly on flypaper.
It is possible that they moved to Germany and then back to the UK after WW2 but this im not sure of.
Any help would be great - thanking you![]()

Sorry, I tried all sorts from 1905 on but nothing.
Also tried looking for the children's births by just their first names but cannot see them either.
There are Blackborow's marriages in Islington but not a Florence.

From her birth registration, her middle name was Elizabeth. But I could not find a marriage.

Morning all
Are we definate that his name was Adolf or was this some reference to his being German (they were often called Adolf when over here as a nickname I believe for obvious reasons).
And has anyone tried searching for a miss spelling, the one I found is Blackbourn (see below), there are two Florence E Blackbourn's, one married Samson Brebner in 1912 the other married Herbert Tomlin in 1915, the second marriage had a daughter Margaret "R" Tomlin in 1920.
Questions here are, what did the "R" stand for (Rushin ?)
also is Brebner a German type name ?
another issue is, I had problems with my grandmother, I knew her surname as I have relatives from her side, but she married earlier hence her marriage to my grandfather was under a different surname and in the registry not church due to being a widow. Could Florence have married one of the above and then married Adolf later, would need to look through Deaths etc. Just me thinking on the keyboard !
Cheers
Brian

Thank you all for your help so far! It really is much appreciated as would help to solve a little family mystery.
As for the use of the name "Adolf" you could well be right it being used as a generic term because he was German and having come over here after the war (I have since found out that they did return to Germany - was only a visit to the UK after the war) I will try to find out from my Grandfather about if the name Adolf was just purely becasue he was German, although he probably won't know as was on my Grandmothers side and she has passed away.
cheers again for all your help, and lines of thought on the matter!
