Hannah Brown.
Born abt 1889. Crumps Brook. Cleobury Mortimer. Shropshire.
1891 census shows Hannah as a niece aged 1 year.
Living with.
Samuel Brown and his wife Mary Ann Brown.
Both Samuel and Mary are from the Cleobury Mortimer area.
They are shown as being living in Crumps Brook which is near Hopton Wafers.
Hannah has to be the daughter of one of Samuel's family.
I cannot find a birth for Hannah.
Samuel is married to Mary Ann. She appears to have the maiden name of Baldwin. They have a daughter, Minnie E Brown aged 2 in the 1881 census.
There is a Samuel Brown living in the Cleobury Mortimer district in the 1861 census, showing a birth around 1839, which is around Sam's birth year.
He has two brothers, John and James.
The question is who is Hannah's parents.
Cheers.
Dave

Hi Geoffers.
No I suspect this is her.
I just thought someone might spot who her parents were and if that fails the next step is the birth certificate.
She more looks likely to be the offspring of one of Samuel's brothers children and not from one of his brothers.
Hannah Brown marries a John Thomas in 1908 in the Cleobury Mortimer area.
There are more John Thomas's than you can shake a stick at, but none are from the area that they get married in.
Which now is another headache.
Cheers.

Just as a post script.
John Thomas, Hannah's husband. shows on their daughters birth certificate, that he was a stone quarrier. So I suppose there must be a few quarry's up round the Woodrow area. Lime stone quarrying in the Clee hills I bet.
Cheers

Thanks to birth and marriage certificates I have sorted out a fair amount of the information I needed. But joy of joys and from a completely unexpected source A*, I have found what looks like the name of the family home. Its a cottage with a distinct name. Now I wont say what it is because that may be against the rules but as soon as I get the chance I'm making a bee line for Crumps Brook.
If anyone has any details of the names, Brown and Thomas, in these area's;
Crumps Brook. Hopton Wafers. Farlow. Catherton Common. Cleobury Mortimer.
I would be grateful.
Cheers.
Dave
