John Robson, Scotland

Can anyone help, my 4th gt.grandfather John Robson from Scotland christened a Robert born 1798, Elizabeth Scott born 1800, Ann born 1802, Jane born 1804 and Mary born 1810, by the time Mary was christened he had died, they where all christened at Norfolk Street Associate Congrational or Scotch Church in North Shields, unfortunately there is nothing else noted other than child of John Robson of Scotland, no mothers name, no occupation although most of the family are shipwrights or mariners, please can someone give me any ideas as too how I can find out where in Scotland and when he was born, I have been banging my head against a brick wall for a lot of years with this part of my family tree.

I have the census's from 1841 for my 3rd gt. grandfather Robert Robson son of John Robson from Scotland but have no information about his parents other than John had died when his last child was christened in 1810, can find no marriages for the siblings of Robert, nor can I find the death of John
