Please be aware that the Folio numbering scheme used for HO107-1474 on my CENdexes site is not identical to the 'official' system. So if you don't find the listed surname you are looking for, then be sure to look on the preceding Enumerator Page.

i.e The Folio pages coded 'b' have the correct Folio Number as per the 'official' system, but Folio Pages coded 'a' would be classed as the 'v' (second) page of the preceding Folio by the 'official' system.

Further info is now posted on CENdexes, and where possible I shall reorganise the existing surname lists for this Piece, into the 'official' format, using 'r' for the first page and 'v' for the second page. The present lists may lead the lookerup to the page following the one they might expect, but by looking at the preceding page the wanted surname should be found.

This is the only 1851 Piece on the site, and as far as I am aware there should be no problem with later Census years.

1851 Census - HO107-1474 Chelsea North East

All the surnames lists for the EDs in this Piece have now been converted to the 'official' numbering and coding system. So there should now be only transcription errors and typos to cause confusion!

Recent and ongoing additions to the site ( now running at about 130 pages ) include the very hefty NORFOLK contributions by Geoff Lowe ( Geoffers) and some from Pam Downes. Also a chunk of a Middlesex 1861 Piece, and some surnames from single Census page photocopies.

Hopefully there will be more of this page-by-page indexing for other counties, which although small, is adding to the FreeFind site search indexing.
