Suicide Burials

My g grandfather committed suicide in 1911. At the time he was living in Ardwick. Does anybody know which cemetery/s at the time had unconsecrated ground where he could possibilty have been buried. Rusholme cemetery was suggested but he was not buried there. Does anybody know if there was unconsecrated ground at Ardwick Cemetery. Does Central Library hold these records? I live in East Anglia so need to gather as much information as possible before travelling up. Any help appreciated.

Linda, I think all the cemeteries you mention would be closed by then. What about Phillips Park, Southern Cemetery and Manchester North. Being municipal they would all cater for all denominations and have unconsecrated ground.

Thanks John. Which Cemetery is classed as Manchester North. I know where Phillips Park and Southern Cemeteries are but not Manchester North. I am going to Manchester in February to try and check the records in Central Library. Thanks for replying and the direction you have pointed me in. Linda

it's the cemetery to the north of Queens Park at the junction of Queens Road and Rochdale Road. The records for this cemetery and Philips Park are now at Blackley Cemetery. Very helpful and freindly folk there with the advantage that they have knowledge of their cemeteries.
