William Mead was a Royal Marine on the Leviathan at Trafalgar and had a daughter called Charlotte who's birth is listed as 'Born at Sea'. National Archives have no record as its too early. Any ideas of how I can find out where she came from as this has me completely baffled!!!!

Have you tried to find the record of his service in the RM, which will indicate where he was when his daughter was born?

WILLIAM MEAD
Yes, have done that but all it says Charlotte Ann Mead born 1824 'on the high seas'. Believe HMS Chatham may have something to do with it. William Mead was born West Lavington, TROWBRIDGE, Wiltshire, England c1790 and was married to Ann.
