Default George Craft of Chalfont/Little Missenden

I am trying to find any children of George Craft and Elizabeth Moore (married 1780 ).

I know they had a son, James, b 1790 (my 4x great grandfather). I would also like to find James's first marriage (pre 1822, when he married Ruth Warner at Little Missenden).

Default George Craft & Elizabeth Moore

I am new to this site but I notice that we share the same 4x GT Grandparents above.

I believe that George & Elizabeth had at least another son, Joseph, brother of James b 1790,

I ,too ,am searching for James' first wife. I know that her christian name was Sarah & I have a copy of the record of her burial at Little Missenden in 1822, shortly after the burial of Elizabeth Caroline, baby daughter of James & Sarah. There were other older children born to James & Sarah & the need for these children to be cared for probably accounts for James' very quick marriage, after Sarah's death, to Ruth Warner

Hi Ceeson, nice to see you here & already proving the worth of joining by finding a Family connection so soon. Good hunting to you both.

Familysearch shows several births for children of a James & Sarah :
    Hester 1815
    Eliiza 1816
John 1818 all at Little Missenden,

there are others some at Great Missenden to James & Sarah,..not necessarily same couple.

Thanks very much for taking the trouble to find the childrens' names. I have no idea how to find out more about them since by the first available Census in 1841 they were adults & no longer live at home. I am sure that the James & Sarah in Great Missenden are not immediate ancestors. This family tend to stay in the Chalfont, Chesham/Little Missenden areas of the county until an exodus in the 1900s to Hillingdon.

    Ceeson, Waitabit,

I'm so sorry I haven't answered earlier. I haven't been in here in ages.

I have copies of the wills of George, Joseph and John. I think these three were brothers. Sorry to be so vague, it's a while since I've looked at any of this stuff.
The family moved to Uxbridge because that is where the corn market was. The Chalfonts/Missendens/Chesham/Amersham/Penn are all pretty much in spitting distance of each other. I have copies of a couple of photos of John and Ruth Craft, (my cousin has the originals, along with a bible). Who were your 3x G-Grandparents, Ceeson?
