Being in NZ it is time consuming and expensive to travel to UK to photograph my family tree graves. Difficult even to find them!
What I would like to know is, is there an easy way to locate burial places (cemeteries/churchyards). E.g. My G/Grand father and G/Grand mother died in South Shields, Durham, Sep 1913 and Jan 1008 respectively. I feel they would have been buried there but where? Probably other family members also.
Secondly, is there anyone, who could/would visit and digitally photograph the gravesites/inscriptions?

Hello Gordon
Most burials at that time would have been in a cemetery run by the local council, their website will tell you how to contact the cemeteries department who would give you details of the burials, perhaps for a fee.
On second thoughts, I'm not so sure about the burial in Jan 1008.

Cemeteries
Yep! Stupid! Should read 1908.
Thanks. Have contacted Durham and Tyne & Wear Councils for Weshoe Cemetery and awaiting reply.
