Default Locate William Mumford c1820 Australia

Gt grand uncle abandoned family and is thought to have returned to Australia where his father came from (father was William Mumford born 1840 Hobart also born to a Tasmanian convict William John Mumford b.1821.
He is believed to have left NZ ~1920.
Is there a way of locating him online through Shipping list or Death Index?

    What about this fellow?

Digger - Death Index. Victoria 1921-1985

MUMFORD, William, died 1959, aged 92, reg 'Balw' (Balwyn?)
    Father: William
    Mother: Hannah FRENCH
    Reg Number: 8749

Other William Mumford deaths in this same time frame do not fit with age or parent details. The above death cert would tell you his birthplace and any marital details if known to the informant, also list any children, and how long he had been in Australia. An image can be downloaded for $A17.50, cheaper than a paper copy, and we do not have transcription agents or any other access to certificates in Victoria.

You can search New South Wales online up to 1977.

There are some deaths there, perhaps you would recognize his parents names, they do not normally give ages in the index.

Maybe. Birth date is close enough however mothers name is Elizabeth Margaret aka Margaret.
He was also originally a Mariner then Labourer and finally Storeman in 1911.

    Thanks for the search engine
