    Wink The name of Searing

    Hello all

Im new to this exciting Forum although reseaching my family tree, I have had some luck with getting snipits of info. it would seem that many of my family liven in Chesunt (Hertfordshire)

I would like if possible to locate graves of any of the "Searings" but unsure as to what might have been the area used in the 1850's 1900's for them that resided in "Cheshunt"

perhaps anyone living in and around Cheshund would be able to help so I can investigate.

    thankyou all for your time

    regards

    Paul Searing

Hello, and welcome to the forums

The National Burial Index (NBI) is not complete and the number of records varies from county to county, but it is still a useful place to try. Information on the NBI can be found on the Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS) web site

The NBI is also available online via pay-per-view sites such as findmypast (30 entries 1801-51 for Hertfordshire)

The General Register Office (GRO) index of deaths can be searched to find possible Searing deaths, though this will only give you the district where someone died. A partial transcript is available from freebmd - it is not complete and contains errors, but is a s useful starting point.

Searching census returns is a good way of plotting the spread of a name and possible areas to look for deaths/burials.

    Good luck

    Default Hi Kelly

    Hi Kelly

    First and formost
    thanks for your reply

If you can let me know in what way you are connected the Searing name I can help, from the names you have given me I could check to see how they sit in the "Tree" assuming they are related by birth to my direct decendants.

    Regards

    Paul

My Great grandmother Ethel Gertrude Ellen Cole (just found out as being grandmother) was married to Albert Edward Searing b. c1900 in Lewisham They married 1935 In Lewisham
They also had a son John Searing 1935
