    Default Good News -- FYI

This may be old news for some, but I've just received word from a professional LDS genealogist that...

"Most don't know it yet but the entire collection of over two million microfilms and all of the microfiched books are being digitalized to go online for free viewing... they've concentrated on improving the technology that allows this so a microfilm that used to take weeks to be digitalized can now be done in minutes."

As of now there is no projected date for when the data will be available online but, when it does come online, people will be able to do a search, click on a link to get the document, and either print it out or save it to their hard drive.

The Mormon church has been very active in gathering, organizing, and deploying genealogical data. It has always been an excellent resource for research. We shall have to keep an eye on familysearch.org to see what develops. This is very promising.

    Default Good News

    That's Correct

A friend of mine in Canada saw this on their TV News a few weeks ago and he phoned me right away to tell me about it.

    Sounds very good.
