    Hi
Sorry for the delay in answering we went off to Wales for a few days and I'm just drying out!!!!!!!!!!!!!(from the rain)

My Chadwicks were originally from Alstonefield in Staffs. LYDIA CHADWICK married JOHN BRINDLEY in Duffield Parish Church in 1811. They lived in MILFORD. Lydia was the daughter of NATHANIEL CHADWICK and ELIZABETH REDFERN.

I don't recognise any of your family but who knows - back in the mist time there maybe a link.

    Good luck with your research

Furnace Hill is in Barrow Hill, near Staveley. It was a row of houses leading to the furnace at Staveley Works. The location, but no houses, is still there but will soon disappear with re-development.

Sorry for the delay in replying and thanks for the information. I am hoping to pop into Staveley in the not too distant future. I am hoping the library may have some local photos form the mid to late 1800s.

    Regards

    Kath
